We have received warning from police station about cheating from Asian people group……here is the warning
“To foreign visitor!
During the past, many foreign visitors staying in the Pham Ngu Lao Area had reported to the local police station that they were defrauded of all their money and properties by a group of people from Asian countries. The tricks are as follows:
Those Asian people gather together in the public park 23/9 (facing on both Pham Ngu Lao and Le Lai streets) and wait for the pass-by foreigners. They tend to approach the foreign visitor and introduce themselves that they are Singaporean, Indonesian, or Malaysian,… and they know some gambling places in the city and the way how to do small business in Vietnam. They give their cell phone number, hotel address where they live and also their false names, etc…to foreign visitors and Entangle them in gambling
If the foreign visitor agrees with their offers suggestions, they will drive the visitor on the taxi-cap aiming to let the guest ignore the streets and the places where the guest has been led to. Almost foreign visitors were defrauded of all their own property by this dishonest act. Also, when lacking of money, foreign visitor are compelled to withdraw the money at ATM cabinet to pay them back
In order to prevent this bad solution, we would like to inform to all foreign visitors to be caution of all trickeries caused by dishonest people.
Please you are kindly requested to be cautious and take care of your personal belongings as hand bag, jewelry, camera, cell phone, etc.. whenever you go out.
